June 2007 and with it the opening of the Toon Studios in the Walt Disney Studios Park is coming closer and closer, faster and faster. Time for another look at the progress of this second, large construction site in 
the theme park. Surely, the large blue construction fence with its posters advertising the two upcoming attractions of the Toon Studios and the cut-out gulls on top of it try to block the view of guests onto the construction ... but there are always little corners that allow fans to take a glimpse at the things to come.
Ok, so what is there new to discover? Let's start at the far left of the cosntruction site, right next to the Art of Animation building, which got a new blue coat of paint 
on this side that corresponds to the blue color of a desert sky as well as the blue of the new Studio 5 (which houses Crush's Coaster) on the far right site of the construction area. Right in front of the building one can clearly make out the steel construction for the roof of the V8 cafe, that will be the backdrop for the Cars attraction. In front of it toward Studio 5 the ground is 
prepared for this attraction, as the mechanics of the ride need to be lowered underground, while further in the back the blue painted rockwork in front of Studio 5 can be seen. To the right of the photo would be the desert rock in the shape of a hood ornament, as shown on a photo from late December. A good overview of the whole area is certainly possible from further up ... so let's take a look at our two "pseudo-aerial" shots from December. One can clearly see more of the actual main building of the V8 cafe. The far back of the Toon Studios will be closed off with a concrete wall as can be clearly seen. But also note that there are more palm trees behind the construction fence in front of the rockwork of Crush's Coaster, which will help extend the already expanded oasis of Aladdin even further. If you look close at this shot you can also see a small part of a sweeping corner of coaster track located in the midst of the blue rockwork outside the coaster's soundstage. 
For a better feeling for the size of the rockwork in front of Studio 5 there are also two more ground level photos, one from December and a current one (the one with the palm trees). It's shouldn't be too far off till the ground is finished in the front section of the Toon Studios and the roof of the V8 cafe added as well...
