Only this spring the Auberge de Cendrillon changed its concept once again. Originally the table service restaurant offering fine French cuisine in Fantasyland it had changed to offering a starter and buffet buffet combined with a limited choice of main course offerings a-la-carte. Since this spring it is offering a "musical lunch / dinner" experience starring the Disney Princess and their princes hosted by the mice of Cinderella. While the combination of buffet and a-la-carte main course hasn't changed, now the young guests will have an opportunity to waltz with their favourite Disney Princess and Princes - fans of fine dining so might be less enthusiastic about this change.
In the meantime word is out that the Cafe Agrabah inside the Adventureland Bazar is slated for a reopening in early November. The buffet restaurant has been closed for several years, being used only for special events. When it was open it treated guests to a unique offering of oriental foods and was a favoruite of locals and frequent guests for a short break in the afternoon, when the pastries buffet and steaming hot mint tea was a special treat. The re-opening of the Cafe Agrabah, if taking place as planned, would allow guests finally to enjoy one of the most beauftilly themed interior areas of the park - the Adventureland Bazar that gives guests the feeling of strolling through an outdoor street between high oriental, detail rich facades, even so they are safe from the elements thanks to a cleverly hidden glass roof. Originally the richly decorated rooms behind the facdes housed various shops, but are now used as richly themed dining areas allowing guests (as of early November once again) to choose whether to dine in one of the courtyards or inside one of the rooms.
But there are changes to the dining options not only in the Disneyland Park, but also the Walt Disney Studios - one already realized, one coming up. With the start of the busy summer months the Café de Cascadeurs offering hot dogs, nachos and similar food items in a classical American dinner setting as well as on a terrasse opposite the entrance to the Stunt Show has reopend with table service for 7 days per week. The other change is only planned to get into effect on August 27, so with the end of the summer season: the Rendez Vous de Stars cafeteria should be transformed from a cafeteria style restaurant (in which guests pick up their food freshly prepared from the kitchen) to a buffet location. As guests already walk with trays along counters in which prepared items are offered and the main-courses are prepared and handed out, the changes necessary for a switch to a full buffet should be minimal, allowing for the transformation more or less overnight without any major interruptions.
